Coming from a early 70’s glamrock & late 70’s punk background, Paul Everready’s career behind the turntables took shape around 1985, mainly in local club “De Waakzaamheid”, playing all music genres across the board, from rock to disco to early rap to punk/wave to pop to funk and everything in between. That club also saw him as a member of the creative team during the heydays of house from about ’88 to ’94, with him doing the occasional house-gig on the side but concentrating more on doing funk/rare groove, disco/boogie side of things which turned him into a serious collector and connoisseur of all things disco & beyond.
He was also a member of the pop-house group Warp-9, who scored a major hit with the tune ‘Whammer Slammer’, during ’94-’95.
1996, after befriending Sanyi, saw the birth of The Disco Twins (later DiscTwins). Initially for one or two gigs on the infamous ‘Fanclub’ nights in the late RoXY. Where they played all kinds of trashy kitsch & nasty pop stuff. But they’re still kicking it, their collaboration has lead into (inter)national residencies at Speedfreax, Bingo, Zin, OHAF, Stalker, 11, Now & Wow, Fucques Les Balles, Rauw, Manifesto to name but a few, and they are currently residents at the Sugar Factory (POP!) and the new Flex Bar, playing alongside friends like In Flagranti, Tommie Sunshine (US), Fuck Hugo (Berlin) and playing a blend of modern elektronica/pop/rock/disco/wave stuff.
Paul Everready & Sanyi are also working on productions of their own as well as doing remixes for others.
